Circulation Rules

Library Borrowing Rules

Who can borrow:

The library is open to all members with a valid ID.
Different borrowing limits and loan periods apply to different user categories:

Category	Maximum Books	Loan Period
Teachers	15	28 days
UG/PG Students	4	14 days
Non-Teaching Staff	2	14 days

What can’t be borrowed:

Reference books, rare books, and printed journals/periodicals cannot be borrowed. These materials must be used inside the library.

Borrowing and returning:

Show your valid library membership ID when borrowing or returning items.
Check the borrowed materials for any damage before leaving the library. You are responsible for any damage discovered upon return.
Return all borrowed items by the due date to avoid fines. Refer to the due date slip for information on overdue fines.

Library Rules

Library Rules:
General Conduct:
- Membership: Your College ID Card serves as your library card. Please present it upon entry.
- Belongings: Leave bags and other belongings at the property counter. The library is not responsible for lost valuables.
- Behavior: Maintain a respectful and quiet environment. Avoid disruptive behavior like loud noises, improper sitting posture, or damage to library property. Disciplinary action may be taken for violations.
- Checking In/Out: Allow staff to verify your checked-out items at the security counter upon entry and exit.
- Personal Items: Be responsible for your belongings like laptops and personal books. The library is not responsible for lost or forgotten items.
Borrowing Materials:
- Checkout: Properly check out any library material before leaving with it. Unauthorized removal will result in disciplinary action.
- Returning Borrowed Materials:
  - Return all borrowed materials before leaving the college, even if on leave with or without pay.
  - Report lost library books immediately to the librarian.
- Borrowing Restrictions: Misusing library facilities or materials may lead to restricted or suspended borrowing privileges.
Material Care:
- Defacing Materials: Do not write, mark, cut, or damage library resources in any way. You will be charged the full cost of replacement.
- Reference Materials: Reference materials like dictionaries, encyclopedias, and yearbooks are not available for borrowing.
Additional Rules:
- Mobile Phones: Keep mobiles on silent mode or switch them off in the library.
- Silence: Maintain silence to avoid disturbing others.
- Smoking and Food/Drinks: Smoking and eating/drinking are prohibited in the library.
- Guests: Visitors require permission and a letter of introduction from their affiliated institution.
- Book Care: Protect borrowed books from damage and return them on time.
- Shelving Books: If you don’t need a book, place it on the book trolley or table. Don’t attempt to shelve it yourself.
- Recalling Books: The librarian may request the return of any borrowed book at any time.
- Feedback: Share your feedback using the forms available at the circulation counter.

The Project entitled “National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST)”, provides access to e-resources to students, researchers and faculty from colleges and other beneficiary institutions through the server(s) installed at the INFLIBNET Centre. The authorized users from colleges can now access e-resources and download articles required by them directly from the publisher’s website once they are duly authenticated as authorized users through servers deployed at the INFLIBNET Centre.
